Water Before Bedtime

About 90% of heart attacks occur early in the morning and it can be minimized if one takes a glass or two of water before retiring in the evening.

Drinking water at the correct time maximizes its effectiveness on the Human body :
  • 1 glass of water after waking up - helps activate internal organs
  • 1 glass of water 30 minutes before a meal - helps digestion
  • 1 glass of water before taking a bath - helps lower blood pressure
  • 1 glass of water before going to bed - avoids stroke or heart attack

Gators on the prowl!!!

Did you know about a man who got his hand bit by an alligator as he reached in near the water's edge to get his golf ball on 5-1-2006 or 5-1-2007. Today was an anniversary date....read on.  The man back then was ok, but he had to go get checked out at the hospital for his minor bite. He was lucky.  The news is that on May 1, 2012, a trapper was hurt (lost part of his finger when bitten) trying to capture a wayward gator.  Unfortunately, the gator had to be shot.   The trappers said that the reason the gators are on the move is due to the low water in the ponds, not necessarily because it is mating season. Do be aware and keep your eyes open. A witness to the event on May 1, 2012 said that "it was not fun to experience tonight. Not only nerve wracking but sad the gator had to be shot."  Also, a Villager living near the preserve off Bailey Trail a few blocks behind Lake Miona Rec Center found a gator in the garage recently as well. They heard the gruntings as they came out of their house from the laundry room going to the garage to walk their dog. They call The Villages Security.   It was a small alligator but he was still a danger.  The story is that they just got him out and back to the wild and all was OK.

Tigers and Lions and Bears, OH MY!

We received the following email, we haven't verified if it's accurate or not, but sharing none-the-less because the email came with names and a specific Village...

"Dear neighbors and friends this is why you should not leave your garage doors open. This is not a hoax. The only sad thing is that it wasn’t in the Daily Sun to make people aware as it occurred in the Village of Winifred.  At long last, here is the picture of the black bear that appeared in the Village of Winifred about 3.5 weeks ago. The picture was taken by the next door neighbor, Shirley Czapla. He was visiting Jean & Jim Thomson's house. It occurred on a garbage morning at about 6:30 a.m. Notice it is almost daylight outside when it decided to leave. The dumpster, on the left, is 6 or so feet tall and therefore the bear was about 5 - 6 ft. tall.

Prayer for our Nation

'Heavenly Father, we come before you today to ask your forgiveness and to seek your direction and guidance. We know Your Word says, 'Woe to those who call evil good,' but that is exactly what we have done. We have lost our spiritual equilibrium and reversed our values. We have exploited the poor and called it the lottery. We have rewarded laziness and called it welfare. We have killed our unborn and called it choice. We have shot abortionists and called it justifiable. We have neglected to discipline our children and called it building self-esteem. We have abused power and called it politics. We have coveted our neighbor's possessions and called it ambition. We have polluted the air with profanity and pornography and called it freedom of expression. We have ridiculed the time-honored values of our forefathers and called it enlightenment. Search us, Oh God, and know our hearts today; cleanse us from sin and Set us free. Amen!'    - Billy Graham
